Compulsive liar.

Jay Carney, has just retired after three and a half years as White House press secretary under the Obama Administration.

I do not like Jay Carney. Not because he is a liberal. Not because he sugar coated the scandals of failing presidential policies, or even because he stretched the truth in favor of his boss's political reputation. I dislike him because he knowingly lied to the White House Press Corps in order to fool the American people. Hundreds of times.

Jay Carney is the essence of a compulsive liar. His smirky grin is a measure of his disrespect for all who are listening.  People who have watched him perform could not have failed to see the delight he gains from his misleading accounts of some of the most unfortunate episodes in recent American history. The unparalleled national debt, failed war on terrorism, cover-up of the unnecessary deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, the IRS targeting TEA party organizations, Non-treatment of sick veterans at VA hospitals, Fast and Furious gun sales to Mexican drug lords, the disastrous and costly Affordable Care Act, the list is endless, all whitewashed with the cunning talents and obvious enjoyment of Jay Carney.

It could be argued that no one could have foreseen the results of the various scandals while they were unfolding but Carney did not fit that profile. He manipulated the facts after they were known to him, lying solely to protect the Obama Administration and loving every minute of it. It is not okay for a public servant to lie to the American people. It was not his job to be blatantly untruthful and he is not protected by the job. Lying to Carney is a normal reflex of responding to a question. He is an untrustworthy scoundrel.

He had to go because his credibility was compromised even with liberal supporters who wanted to believe. Even Obama groupies in the White House Press Corps were embarrassed to repeat his explanations of events without quoting opposing facts. He went too far. He had no honor.

Jay Carney's ability to tell a convincing lie is without question. The problem for him was that he could not fool all the people all of the time, in fact most political watchers had caught him lying at least once which eventually degraded his credibility with everyone. The media, even the liberal media, could not trust the spin. Carney's press briefings became a joke. For the media, it was a waste of time. He should have gone years ago when his compulsive lying first became evident.

Imagine being Carney's wife or parents, even a friend or work colleague and wondering if the stories he told you were truthful. How could they want to be around a man like that? Anyone who is not a compulsive liar themselves would certainly be horrified.

Carney is gone, gone from public life where his lies are harmless to Americans. Or has he?

It is not unthinkable that after a short rest in the Caribbean sunshine he will be back. Landing a top job with a leading PR firm, attorneys office, investment company or becoming a Washington lobbyist should be no problem for a high profile public servant like Carney, but I have a hunch that life for him is about to plummet just like the economy he has been lying to us about for years. I think that his reputation has ruined any chance of him being an asset to any company at any price. The ever watchful internet will make it impossible for him to hide the fact that he can never ever be trusted to tell the truth.

Who would ever trust him in any job?

That's what I think, What do you think?
