Why are we using our tax dollars to subsidize Mexico's
power plants improvements?

Letter to the Editor:

How many countries are having their infrastructures and power plants updated by our tax dollars? We can't pass legislation to improve our own infrastructures and power plants, but we can send money to do that in Mexico?

Apparently our government officials are gathering up all loose nuclear material across the globe and storing it here, in the United States. Do you find it interesting we are storing it here, with our citizens? Are we sitting on a nuclear time bomb? Look what happened in Japan, and yet we have all this nuclear material, right here in Tennessee. Oakridge. Yes, we are sitting next to a nuclear storage site. How worthless to your country are you feeling?

This week nuclear material was removed from Mexico, they are now nuclear material free. But, a big BUT, our tax dollars are going to go to imporve Mexico's power plants. Really? You better believe it. Why in the world would U.S. citizen's tax dollars be given to Mexico to improve their power structures?

I can make a good guess. All those companies that have outsourced their production to Mexico need to have improved power and infrastructures in order to make bigger profits. Are the companies paying for this? No, the American citizen is paying for this. Are you tired of subsidizing large corporations who have absolutely no loyalty to you for your many years of service? Well, you are now subsidizing their power in Mexico, and how many other countries?

We need people who can look into what the corporations are gaining from our tax dollars for their own benefit. We need legislators who are willing and able to say NO to these corporations that want our dollars, but refuse to do anything in return for the American people. We need to show them they aren't going to benefit from our dollars anymore. If people running the large corporations want to outsource jobs, then they should move to the third world countries they are raping, and live like the peasants. We don't want or need them here.

How can you show your power to these big, corporations? Choose wisely who you elect into office. You have seen how the different parties turn on their constituents, after elections. You have seen first hand how they boldly lie to get into office, knowing they have other agendas against the American people and hiding those agendas until they get the POWER. If you believe their lies, then you deserve what you get, but if you don't, then do something about it. Show them you can improve your corrupt government by electing good people who stick to their words, who show backbone, who aren't afraid to fight for their individual rights against corporations, too large to fail.

You know you do have the power to improve your own communities, there are lots of experienced workers, from all walks of life, that could band together and create a business. That is our new commodity, experience. You have unemployed people who are itching to be productive. I think community workshops would bring people together to think tank and start something good. Your churches could be used as a meeting place to encourage the building of companies, by the people and for the people. Do we need these large corporations, who continue to use our dwindling resources without regard to the future, or can we show them that we are survivors? Create a group, see what wonderful resources your community has and the businesses they can create. Be positive and use what everyone has to offer, that is your salvation. My prayers are with everyone who is willing to create work for the good of all citizens.
