The Tennessee Mockingbird

For God And Country

By June Griffin

Since the Council of Kings in the Cleveland City reacted so violently to this Mockingbird column called A Female Manifesto, this column will be for the purpose of soothing their feelings. Those Americans among us who have some age and have seen the downturn of normality in this country find it difficult to address the sensitive, the fearful and the babies which now sit in high places and often run newspapers. Such creatures require a good bit of training into what once was a beautiful and free society and is now locked up with the controls of those whose No. 1 consideration is liability. So, with that said, this column will attempt to soothe said fears and feelings. It could be entitled, Some Blacks I Am Not Mad At.

The Birmingham Independent of November 19, 1965, featured the following headlines: A Voice From The Grave, Sen. McCarthy Warns American Parents. Former White House Aide Goodwin Strives To Enlist Radical Students For LBJ, and a cheering voice of reason under the heading, A Ray Of Light In The Darkness.

June Griffin

"..slowly, at long last, a ray of the light of truth breaking through the heavy curtain of silence, drawn by the managed news media. The voice of the responsible, Christian, Conservative Negro American patriot is beginning to be heard--faintly, to be sure--but if one listens closely, it can be heard. "

One such voice is that of Bishop C. Fain Kyle, sixty-four-year old native of Knoxville, Tennessee, where he received his education. He now resides in Richmond, California. "Bishop Kyle stated recently: 'In the South, the Negro has made more progress than any other race in history." 'He would be making even more progress now,' he continued, 'had not the civil rights agitators turned the love and respect many people need to feel towards my beloved Negro race into hate and contempt." 'As a Negro, I resent it when people say that my race needs special advantages and treatment'" ' To solve all its problems, the South needs only time and freedom from the ignorant meddling of outsiders,' the Bishop declared. He goes on to say "that no one who loves his people wants integration since this means his race will disappear through interbreeding." He expressed great alarm at "the power which Martin Luther King holds today, and considers him the most dangerous man in the world." End quote.

This conclusion was also echoed in the speech by former Chief of Police Drue Lackey of Montgomery, Alabama in his speech at the Bill of Rights Banquet, where he stated that Martin Luther King had done more to aid the Communists than any other person, or words to that effect. His entire speech was covered in The People News Of Bradley County, under this column. Following the publishing of the despised Manifesto column and the Council's unAmerican action, it was interesting to hear a recording of a Black Pastor in New York castigate his congregation for being misused and insulted by Affirmative Action, which was the exact tenor of  the Female Manifesto. This was aired on the popular Rush Limbaugh program within a few days of the publication of the unnecessarily controversial column. The Cleveland City Council will be well advised to read again the Female Manifesto and see that this Mockingbird doesn't intend to be cannon fodder for the forced diversity and multiculturalism which has been rammed down our throats for the purpose of gleaning grants. This Mockingbird awaits either repentance or resignation by the Cleveland City Council for violation of the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights, business notwithstanding.
