Clearing up any misunderstanding
To the readers of The People News:
In my column last month titled "The Manifesto of An Angry White Man," I stated "Mrs. Griffin was previously arrested, though not convicted, of stealing a Mexican flag." Even though my statement was correct, I do not want to leave any readers of my article who are unfamiliar with her to think of her as a thief. Anyone who knows Mrs. Griffin also knows she is not a thief, and as far as I know, dishonest in any manner, now, or in the past. She did take the flag, but did so in a statement of protest.
Even though I do not always agree with her beliefs and opinions, she, like I, has a constitutional right to express them. Sometimes considered extreme, I feel like Mrs. Griffin is like many Americans who remember our country being in a lot better shape than it is now; A country where the vast majority of the people used to have integrity and a strong work ethic.
Whether you agree with her or not, you certainly have to admire her courage to stand up for what she believes is right, while most others sit silently by.
