They Love Me!!

They love me over at the Bradley News Weekly!

Recently, their editor (whose name is not published with the articles he or she writes) devoted almost a whole editorial to me!  How do I know they love me??  The writer of the editorial kept calling me sweet pet names like "a crusty old curmudgeon" and "old codger", names I had only previously been called by my loving wife.  Why all this sudden love an affection from the editor of a competing newspaper?  Evidently, they really liked the article I wrote in a recent issue of The People News regarding Charter Communications.  At one point, their un-named editor even compared my thinking to that of Cleveland city school board member Michell Goldston.  Well, since they already like me over there so much, maybe if I start refusing to say the pledge, they will really get turned on over me!

Now, as the Bradley News Weekly columnist J. Michael Leonard (he's one of their writers who does have his name published with his articles) pointed out in a recent column, some people believe everything they see in print, so to make things perfectly clear, I AM NOT REALLY GOING TO QUIT SAYING THE PLEDGE, AND THIS ARTICLE UP TO NOW IS WRITTEN WITH HUMOROUS INTENT!

Now, probably the scariest thing about this whole Charter issue is my loving wife, the one who calls me the same pet names as they do, sides with them on this issue!

Seriously folks, my opinion on Charter and their opinion on Charter is really irrelevant - What is most important is the fact we live in a country where it is all right to express a difference of opinion.  I think that is surely one thing their editor and I will agree on.  The First Amendment, despite many challenges (the most recent by local legislator's Jeff Miller and Dewayne Bunch) has withstood the test of time, and it is just one of the many things we have to be thankful for living in this country!

PS:  Love and kisses to all you guys at the Weekly!
