I, recently having experienced the great transition into my fifties, have discovered the secret to being Forever Young.
Now let's see, I believe that being Forever Young is a gracious gift. I remember all the neat birthdays that I have had, in fact I can't remember one that wasn't great. Ok, so maybe I forgot one or two, maybe someone else forgot some too, but all in all I survived every one of them.
Getting older is really a way of saying you're getting younger. I remember after turning eighteen they quit putting all the candles on the cake. I decided they either couldn't count or they run out of candles, I prefer the first. He-he-he.

Since they now only put three candles each year on my cake, that must mean I am stuck in a time warp, or I am still three. We could count like that and be as old as Moses, or Abraham. I would definitely consider that the effect of being Forever Young... wouldn't you?
What is age anyway? Time? Perhaps like that of a fine wine, age is the essence which gives it its eloquence. Age, it is a time factor that was devised eons ago to confuse the mortal man into thinking he knows what he is talking about.
In reality, who counts anyway? Does it really matter how old a person might be. What do we keep track for.... Uncle Sam? He knows when we are born, what we buy the

|
most of. (That's what those discount cards at the grocery stores are for... in case you didn't know it.) He knows when we have money and then wants it. He knows when we're too old to work, and won't give us our money from our great social security

|
|
|
|
|
savings account. (That mysteriously disappears each year.) He knows when you die and then wants everything that you left behind. So does it really matter how old you get?

|
On the brighter side; age is a wonderful experience. Look at it through the eyes of a child.
You can't wait to be five, so you can go to school. You can't wait until you're eleven so you can be the older kid in school. You can't wait until you're thirteen, so you won't be a kid anymore..... Can't wait until you're sixteen, so you can make a statement, can't wait until you're eighteen, so you can vote. You can't wait to be twenty-one, so you will officially be of age. Well then what?
When you age, each year you are three again. You're just a smarter three year old that's all. And when they say act your age... hey you can pick any age you have already experienced and be that age for as long as you want.
Summing this up is really simple… You see when you turn fifty you earn the right to begin to count backwards, yes that's right, backwards. Example is simple, when you are fifty you are really 49 and every year after you will get younger, but you might want to find an age that will be safer to stop at. For if you count backwards too long remember you will eventually end up in diapers again.
So with that I light my candles to you.... and wish you all a Happy Forever Young.
