Any wonder the USA is not respected?

Fresno Calif. (AP) - An 11 year old girl who threw a rock to defend herself after neighborhood boys pelted her with water balloons is being prosecuted on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Maribel Cuevas says she didn't mean to hurt the 9 year old boy - who acknowledged to officers that he started the fight. He was released from hospital after getting his head stitched up. Maribel already has spent 5 days in juvenile hall with one half-hour visit from her parents. She then spent 30 days under house arrest, wearing a GPS ankle bracelet.

And the wacko responsible for this nonsense is Assistant Fresno County District Attorney Bob Ellis, who says he cannot comment on the case because it involves children. Yeah, right. It is OK to treat a child like a violent parole offender and lock her up but she needs protecting when an official's stupidity is questioned. This is nothing more than arbitrary state child abuse and District Attorney Bob Ellis or anyone else involved in this disgraceful travesty of justice should be prosecuted as child abusers and sentenced to what the child had to endure. And little Maribel, I hope she doesn't grow up to believe all adults are as stupid as Ellis.
